Louder Than Words ‘Verse  Jared throws a party for his best friend, looking forward to meeting the girl in his life. Jensen wasn’t quite what he was expecting.

Signs and Wonders This is a comment fic for roque_clasique’s Birthday Comment Fic Meme. The prompt was Deaf!Jensen and interpreter!Jared. (They don’t know each other until Jared is assigned to interpret for him… maybe in class? Maybe they’re in college?)

After Ever   Jared is a kindhearted, hard-working guy plagued with low self-esteem. Stuck in a prolonged adolescence, he is enabled by dysfunctional personal relationships. When he meets and begins to date Jensen online, Jensen first is a friendly voice in the dark, but when they finally meet face-to-face Jared realizes Jensen is nothing like he expected. It becomes Jared’s challenge to earn Jensen’s hardened heart, to overcome the barrier Jensen’s deafness creates between them, and to discover that first we must love ourselves before we can be truly happy.

The Quiet ‘Verse  Jared is an amateur pianist who unexpectedly begins to regain his confidence from his teacher’s cousin.

Carve Your Name, You’re in My Blood  Just your typical deaf!Jensen, foster kid!J2…a bit angsty, but at least Jared and Jensen have each other. 🙂

The Coffee House  Jensen is a hard-of hearing art student, and Jared is the mumbling barista who always comments on Jensen’s sketches while poor Jen is just trying to enjoy a cup of coffee. Jensen always mishears Jared, and thinks Jared is a complete and total asshole.

The Convergence of the Twain  Jensen doesn’t really understand why this kid’s so special, and Jared can’t really explain what it is about Jensen that makes him want to be happy, but neither of them can walk away from this. Because Jared needs someone to see him, and Jensen needs someone to hear him, and who would’ve thought they’d find their whole in another half that’s just as broken. Jensen is an anchor in Jared’s storm, Jared is a light in Jensen’s darkness, and neither of them wants to give up on what they’ve never thought they could have. It’s a meeting that shakes the foundation to two worlds indelibly, this convergence of a twain.
