(I liked this for lots of reasons but especially because of the reminder it offers that Ruby was somebody Sam had a close relationship with – he made himself emotionally vulnerable to her, which is something Sam doesn’t do very readily, and when she betrayed him he lost something else besides Dean’s trust and his own self-confidence.)
