A fan took a video on set of Jared explaining to the group of fans that were there why he couldn’t stay after filming. It’s another example of how amazing he is. According to what he says in the video, he just learned the news about one of his dogs passing away a couple hours before, and he’s obviously upset about it. But he wanted to make sure to take the time to apologize to the fans for not being able to stay to take pics or sign autographs, even though he doesn’t have to, and even thanks them for their presence and being there to help get him through the day. Jared has the biggest heart and I’m sending all my love to him and his family right now (x)

Duct tape and safety pins: A hurt!Sam rec list

In honour of Fanfic Writer Appreciation Day, I’ve put together this list of some of my favourite hurt!Sam fics. Every one of these fics has pushed me to craft my own writing with as much thought and care as was clearly invested in them by their amazing authors. I hope you find them as gorgeous and inspiring as I do.

Fics are listed in alphabetical order by author name, and include both author summaries (in italics) and my comments. All these authors are superb writers, and I highly recommend checking out their other fanworks as well.

For each rec I have noted: [length | pairing | categories of hurt | major warnings (if needed)]. Most of these fics are gen and contain no sexually explicit content. Do be sure to check the authors’ tags/warnings on each individual fic, though, because there’s some pretty difficult stuff in most of them (all of which is handled beautifully).

If Only There Had Been More Time

allofthefandomfeelings:

Summary: Sam meets Jess. Sam falls for Jess. They’re young, happy, and in love, but sometimes, that’s won’t get you through the day.
Word Count: 2,601

–

The first time he saw Jess, he was pretty drunk. Later, he’d be ashamed of himself because drunk was not often a state he found himself in, but tonight Brady had insisted. Insisted, he said, because there were going to be a lot of hot girls around and Sam had to loosen up somehow. “Trust me, Sam,” the exact quote had been, “you are NOT a ladies man.” Not that Sam had any interest in being a ladies man – in fact, he was far more interested in getting good grades and preparing for the rest of his life. But Brady had insisted. Again.

So just to satisfy his friend, Sam did as was requested and downed four bottles of beer and three shots in quick succession. Honestly, if he let himself think about it, Sam knew he didn’t want to be drunk because it reminded him of his father, but he pushed that thought to the side and focused instead on the burn currently searing itself into his throat.

It was shortly after he’d decided that leaning against the counter was a better life choice than trying to stand alone on his own two feet that Brady entered the room, escorting the most beautiful woman Sam had ever laid eyes on. “Oh, hey,” his equally as drunk friend had slurred in his general direction, sweeping one hand out toward his companion in introduction as though Sam wasn’t already completely enthralled, “this is Jess. Jess, Sam, a friend of mine.”
