Pining!Sam  Wincest fic recs

anon, I managed to lost your question, I am sorry, tumblr ate it :/ Hope ypu can find some reading there

All Roads Lead to You  Two decades later, Dean Winchester is a hardened hunter, alone in the world, chasing down a nest of vampires. When the hunt goes wrong, he’s forced to take an emergency responder as a hostage and leave the city in a hurry. Except his hostage is too pretty for comfort, Dean is badly hurt, and trouble seems to follow them both at every turn. Deeply tangled into a trap that had been set decades ago, they find that nothing can break them as easily as they can break each other.

Facta non Verba Dean is ten when Sam stops talking, and the rest of it is up to him.

Inheritance Turns out Bobby left behind a whole lot more than a flask and a few crates of books. Sam and Dean deal with the aftermath of what Bobby’s left for them to inherit and try to reconnect post-Purgatory.

The House Always Wins  After the angels fall, the boys take some hard-won time away from the world so Sam can heal. Things at their new home aren’t as restful as they’d hoped, however, as old feelings between the brothers begin to resurge. As if that weren’t enough, it turns out that they’re not as alone in the bunker as they thought.

Creep (poetry) Being 14 is never easy. You have the hormones and the teenage drama.

Being 14 and a hunter is even less fun. All that moving around, always being the new kid, it sucked.

But nothing ever prepared Sam for being 14, a hunter, and in love with his big brother.

Let it Ride While transporting relics from John’s old storage to the Men of Letters bunker the Winchesters lose an item with disastrous results.

Like a Fish Out of Water  AU after Plucky Pennywhistle’s Magical Menagerie. During the final battle with the Leviathans, God finally makes an appearance and deigns to intervene. After granting Sam and Dean a few final requests, he ‘packs his bags’ and takes everything supernatural in existence with him. Left with nothing to hunt, Sam talks a reluctant Dean into settling down in a small town outside of Sioux Falls. Sam seems to want them live a normal kind of life, but between the ridiculous estate sale Sam bought to furnish the house, the arrival of a very human Castiel who’s overwhelmed by human emotions, and their quirky, invasive neighbors, it’s anything but. Dean’s having a difficult time adjusting, convinced everything couldn’t be more abnormal until Sam reveals exactly what kind of life he wants to have with Dean. Dean can’t deny the part of him that wants it–but can he accept it?

One Going On Eternity And Counting Some boundaries were never meant to be crossed …

Loudmouth  Sam describes their sex life to the Feds. Sometime around season 2 or 3, Sam’s in an interrogation room with some cop/FBI agent who’s trying to convince him to provide evidence against Dean. They ask why Sam’s staying with someone who’s brought him nothing but trouble, and the cops listen on in horror as Sam calmly replies with a fifteen-minute dissertation on how he’s a total slut for Dean’s cock. Maybe he’s fed up and being sarcastic, maybe he’s under a truth spell, maybe he knows he’s going to be rescued in an hour and just doesn’t give a shit anymore. Maybe it’s all true, or maybe Sam’s making it up but secretly wishes it were true. Bonus points if Dean somehow hears or sees the interview tape and gets crazy turned-on. No major embarrassment squick, please – Sam really doesn’t care what the cops think of him. He can be ashamed if *Dean* finds out, as long as Dean enthusiastically sets him straight.

A Peacefulness Follows  Sam breaks Deans deal and realizes that what he wants most is Dean.

They Say You Die Twice   As the time on Dean’s deal is drawing to a close, Dean takes Sam to a run-down ranch to recuperate after the days that Never Were, so that Sam might have at least one moment of perfect peace to remember him by – just in case. Unbeknownst to the boys, the nearby forest has its own unique way of preserving memories.

The Circle   The Winchesters find a case that involves the destruction of an ancient and powerful Witches’ Coven. The problem is that the Witches seem to be back, and they’re taking their anger out on local teenagers.

A List of Typos Made by God The summer before Sam leaves for Stanford, Dean begins to forget his relationship with Sam. Every morning he remembers less, and Sam is just waiting for the day Dean forgets him completely.

Salt Water Cure   Set after episode 10.5 “Fan Fiction”- Sam and Dean have to be pretend boyfriends for a case which leads to many changes neither of them ever expected

We Can Make It If We Run  Sam and Dean grow up learning to depend first and foremost on each other, but it’s never easy. Their lives are violent and unpredictable, and as they grow, so do the dangers they face. Sometimes Sam wonders if they’ll survive into adulthood, or if he’ll take his deep love for his brother to an early grave.

Sunshine in your eyes   The one where they go to the beach.

Merry Sexmas, Sammy A sex-obsessed witch curses Sam. Sam has to be claimed by Dean and follow his every order before the clock strikes twelve or he’ll die. Sam freaks out at first, worried how Dean will feel, but it turns out Dean doesn’t really have a problem with any of that. At all.

Between a Rock and a Warm Embrace  After two vegetarian restaurants, an almost serious usage of the term “buttercup,” and an incident with Dean’s mouth pressed against his ear, Sam came to the disorienting conclusion that they were quite possibly dating. Or, more accurately, that Dean was honest-to-god courting him like a modern-day knight in distressed leather armour.

Regression Progression  Dean neglects to use the hex bag to turn back to his adult self. Things are… different. AU from 10.12, About a Boy.

Caught In The Act Dean walks in on Sam while he is “busy” and hears him moan his name. where they act on their feelings but both think that they’ve taken advantage of the other. they stay at Bobby’s and Dean tries to romance Sam, then Castiel shows up.

Tears Are Just Like the Rain Sam and Meg’s little bit of physical contact in the warehouse has made Dean just a little (yeah right) jealous.

Summer before Stanford fics? Please

These Lies We Cherish by Semira
Pairing: Gen | Rating: PG-13 | Wordcount: 4,999 | Archive: AO3

John responds a little too enthusiastically to Sam’s snark when he uncovers his son’s acceptance letter, and Sam leaves, injured and betrayed. Thankfully, it doesn’t end there. For the prompt: What happened during the Stanford fight and how Dean felt about his brother leaving (and not wanting him to go). Anything about this would be great.

Only One I Need by zana_zira

John’s never been supportive of Sam’s academics, but even Dean never imagined he’d try to forbid Sam from going to his own graduation. The fallout is bigger than John probably intended, but now that Sam’s made his choice there will be no going back. Ties into Sam’s acceptance to Stanford.

They Then Ate The Sailors by coyotesuspect
Pairing: Wincest | Rating: R | Wordcount: 24,364 | Archive: AO3

The summer before Sam leaves for Stanford, Sam and Dean sublet a student apartment in a heat-wave gripped Chicago. With John tied up with a case in Iowa City, Sam and Dean are left to figure what’s behind a recent spate of drownings. Sam wrestles with the weight of the secret he’s keeping from Dean, while Dean struggles with his feelings for Sam. Things come to a head when a young girl goes missing and Sam nearly drowns.

falling through by cautionbeware

Sam is seventeen years and one day old when his world rapidly collapses in on itself.

Two-Headed Boy by dollylux (sequel to The Ballad of The Invisible Boy)
Pairing: Wincest | Rating: NC17 | Wordcount: 57,490 | Archive: AO3

Sam’s life from sixteen to twenty-two years old. This is a story of the last days of innocence during a sweltering Southern summer when Sam is so in love with his brother, he can barely stand his touch. It’s the pain between them through lies, through jealousy, through seeing each other with someone else. Theirs is a story of leaving and Stanford, of Dean feeling lost and Sam nearly losing himself without his brother. It’s fire and reunion and a love never lost – ever-present and no longer deniable.

How do you (“how does one”) shop for a therapist?

Can you call up a therapist and be like “hi, I’m therapist shopping”? Can you schedule an appointment with a therapist and then be like “actually I have some questions and I want to spend part of this appointment talking about your practice and whether or not it is garbage?”? Are you expected to phone interview/screen your therapists if you are shopping around for a therapist?

If you’re seeing one therapist are you supposed to/not supposed to tell them if you start seeing another therapist? Is it possible to cheat on your therapist?

I know this one! Or, at least, I know a way to do it, because I’ve done it.

1) When you call them up (or email them, which I prefer, because PHONE, EW), you ask if they’re taking new patients.

2) If they say yes, say something along the lines of “Great! I’m looking for a new therapist. Would it be possible for me to schedule an appointment so we can see whether we’d be a good fit for one another?”

  • IF THEY SAY NO, THEY DON’T DO ‘INTERVIEWS’: they’re a dick, you don’t want them anyway, don’t bother to make an appointment

3) Assuming everything is a go, head over to the appointment. Bring your notebook, pen, and questions. Also, if possible, have a very brief rundown prepared of what you’d like to accomplish with your therapy (or even what you think your biggest issues are).

4) Introduce yourself. Reiterate that you want to see if the two of you would be a good fit, so [a nice little social laugh or smile here, while holding up your notebook] you brought questions.

  • IF THEY DON’T LIKE THAT: they’re a dick, you don’t want them anyway, cut the meeting short

5) Give the rundown of what you want, what your issues are, whatever. See how they react.

  • IF YOU FEEL WEIRD AT ALL ABOUT THEM: they may not be a dick, but if you don’t feel comfortable with them, then it’s going to be a shit therapeutic relationship

6) Ask your questions — about their therapeutic approach, why they entered the field, whether they feel comfortable working with *your* needs (I, for instance, specifically told my awesome therapist that I needed her to tell me absolutely nothing about her personal life or experiences — as much as possible, I needed a blank wall to bounce things off of. It’s been years now, and I THINK she’s seen at least a couple of episodes of Doctor Who. I THINK. That’s all I’ve got. It’s amazing).

  • AGAIN, IF YOU FEEL WEIRD ABOUT THEM: go with your gut — your therapy is not the time or place to try and soldier through

7) By this point, you’ve probably hit the 45 minute mark, and you’ll know if you want to see this person again.

  • IF YES, say that this was a really great meeting, and you’d like to set up a regular appointment.
  • IF NO, say “Thanks for meeting with me.” If it wasn’t too terrible, feel free to add in whatever social niceties you want to lessen the blow (“I have appointments with a few other people, still, but thank you again!”), or you could just skedaddle as soon as possible.
  • IF YOU’RE NOT SURE, go a bit heavier with the social nicety: “I still have appointments with a few other people, but I really enjoyed our meeting. I’ll let you know as soon as possible if I’d like to schedule another one. Thanks again!”

Regarding current therapists: If they’re toxic, get rid of ‘em before you even start interviewing others. Nobody needs that kind of garbage. Otherwise, you could keep seeing them while you interview others, and then the second you find one you like (and you schedule your next appointment), get rid of your current one. You don’t have to say why — just say that you’d like to cancel future appointments. Do it over email, if you want. If you like them, you can tell them that you just need something different now, but that you “really appreciate all the work we’ve done together” or something. If you don’t like them, just cancel. They don’t need to know jack.

  • IF YOUR CURRENT THERAPIST SAYS SHIT ABOUT YOUR LEAVING — and I mean anything other than a positive hope for you in the future — then they were a dick and you were right to find someone else. Who needs passive-aggressive bullshit from a therapist? Nobody, that’s who.

So that’s my philosophy/style with regard to therapist shopping — I may be completely wrong, but it’s worked for me so far. Good luck!

This is really good advice

Yes, very good advice!

Anon asked: Can you recommend wincest fic authors? I know candlebeck but any others that generally write really good wincest?

samprincesschester:

Oh my, so there are a lot of good fics out there but I’m going to give you a list of writers whose characterization of Sam and Dean I consistently love, along with a few of my favorites from each author.

Duct tape and safety pins: A hurt!Sam rec list

In honour of Fanfic Writer Appreciation Day, I’ve put together this list of some of my favourite hurt!Sam fics. Every one of these fics has pushed me to craft my own writing with as much thought and care as was clearly invested in them by their amazing authors. I hope you find them as gorgeous and inspiring as I do.

Fics are listed in alphabetical order by author name, and include both author summaries (in italics) and my comments. All these authors are superb writers, and I highly recommend checking out their other fanworks as well.

For each rec I have noted: [length | pairing | categories of hurt | major warnings (if needed)]. Most of these fics are gen and contain no sexually explicit content. Do be sure to check the authors’ tags/warnings on each individual fic, though, because there’s some pretty difficult stuff in most of them (all of which is handled beautifully).
