Sam telling Jack that he cares for him and it doesn’t matter if he brings Mary back or not, showing him that his life matters and that he respects him—that is my entire life right now.
This is the first time Sam has ever said this out loud. I don’t believe he’s ever admitted it to himself, ever believed himself, until this moment. He’s always thought he was evil… until he saw a boy just like him who wasn’t.
Dean telling Sam “don’t pretend you actually care about him” pissed me off. Sam is treating Jack the way DEAN should have treated Sam. Sam is not using Jack. He’s trying to help him. And yeah maybe if he can help him control his powers, he can see if he can get Mary back. But Sam is not the type of person to just simply use people to get what he wants. He is genuinely trying to save Jack.
