Season 13’s Bid Bad. Don’t think of Jack as the biggest threat in season 13, according to Dabb:

“Jack is not the biggest threat they are dealing with. The biggest threat they’re dealing with — I will not tell you who it is [but] but I will say it’s an old — let’s call him friend — who we have not seem for many years and who will create many, many problems for our guys. And he probably is not currently in our world. He was from the alternate world.” When asked whether the big bad might be Michael Dabb replied “I’ll plead the fifth on that one.”

What we know about s13 so far

  • The first episode picks up right from where s12 ended
  • Cas is ‘more dead than usual’ and will be coming back ‘slowly’, ‘most of him’ will come back X
  • Dean will be ready to kill Jack since he’s Lucifer’s son, whereas Sam is more of an ‘optimist’ and believes Jack should be handled differently since he’s also partly human. Nature vs. Nurture.
  • Missouri Mosely will be returning (possibly for the Wayward Sisters backdoor episode since Missouri’s estranged psychic granddaughter will be a character in the spin-off) X
  • Characters who have died will reappear in the alternate universe, but they’ll be very different from the characters we know.
  • Dean believes they’ve lost their mother forever, whereas Sam is more hopeful to get her back. There will be friction between the two of them over Mary and Jack.
  • Sam’s main goal at the start of the season is to fin their mother, while Dean thinks they have bigger fish to fry.
  • “Jack is the key to getting Mary back — but is opening that rift really something the brothers want done? It could threaten their dimension,” says Dabb.

  • Hints that we’ll see Michael again, although it will be Michael from the alternate universe.
  • Dabb says characters that return in the AU will be there to move the plot along rather than just being cameos.
  • Hints at a possible time travel ep? Episode 11 will be ‘in the same wheelhouse as the episode on the submarine – but a little bit more ambitious’
  • Dean tries to reach out to God once he processes the losses he and Sam have just experienced. 
  • Jensen isn’t directing an episode this season.
  • Hints that Cas is in the Empty. ‘He finds himself alone in this realm with only one other companion – a powerful being played by a great actor’.

  • (this is what Singer said, but I’m unsure if he was talking about episodes in s13 or episodes in the spin-off series)

    Episode 3 will introduce Patience Turner (Missouri’s granddaughter) ep 9 featuring Sam and Dean more heavily but ep 10 more catered to Jody and co.

  • Dean struggles to process the losses of Cas and Mary etc. and his first instinct is to take out the nearest threat – Jack. Sam will talk him down.
  • Sam can relate to Jack – being destined for evil. Dean’s reaction to Jack (wanting to kill him) makes Sam question how Dean thinks of him because of the destiny he once had and because of the demon blood.
  • Jared mentioned Sam still has demon blood.
  • The Scooby Doo episode will be live-action at the beginning but animated for the rest.
